There’s a lot to selling on Amazon

We hear from people every day that are in various stages of developing their ecommerce business. Some have an exciting product or line of products and want to know what to do next. Others are selling on their own sites and determined that now is a good time to branch out onto 3rd party marketplaces. And others are beyond both but want to know what they can do to create even more market share. No matter where you are, we can help you. But before we get too carried away, this page is about Amazon so let’s stay on that topic.

There are many reasons to sell on Amazon—from the hundreds of millions of Amazon customers who can see your products to the ability to start selling fast without the need to create a new standalone website. Learn more about the benefits of Selling on Amazon.

You can register today for the selling account of your choice, without the need to contact a sales person by clicking on the Sell as a Professional or Sell as Individual buttons on this page.

When you sign up as a Professional Seller, you will have access to sell on our US, Canadian, and Mexican marketplaces through a North America Unified Account. This will enable you more easily to share product listing information and manage your inventory consistently across all three marketplaces. For all per-item transaction fees, sellers will pay the fees applicable to the marketplace in which the item was sold. If you're a Professional Seller, you will only be charged one monthly subscription fee for selling in North America.

If you already sell on Amazon in the US, Canada, or Mexico, you can use your existing bank account to receive disbursements in your local currency with the Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers (ACCS). If you are a new seller registering to sell in the US, Canada, or Mexico, you can be paid directly in your local bank account in the local currency, provided you have a bank account in a country supported by Amazon.

Amazon offers two selling plans. The Professional selling plan is available for a $39.99 monthly subscription fee plus per-item selling fees, which vary by category.

If you plan to sell fewer than 40 items a month, the Individual plan may be best for you. There is no monthly subscription fee. Instead, Individuals pay $0.99 per item sold plus other selling fees, which vary by category.

Amazon Services

We could go on and on about everything that needs to be done to prepare your listings, but we don’t want to bore you with details you may not be interested in. So we’ve highlighted 3 services for you below.

Brand & Product Protection

  • We’ll report Copyright and Trademark Infringements on your listings to both you and to Amazon
  • Unauthorized sellers are a troublesome issue so we’ll open cases and purchase your product (if Amazon requires it) to get them removed for you.
  • We’ll watch your listings for unauthorized ASIN contribution published by other sellers and open cases to get that information out of there!
  • You can also count on us to notify offending sellers that your Brand is restricted.
  • If you allow others to sell your Brand, we’ll let you know if they’re violating your MAP pricing. (limitations apply)
Map
We need all of the product data and images you have so we can get started.  After we’ve verified that we have everything we need, we take the time to separate your products by category and add the most appropriate Item Types.  Next, we use a software program created specifically for us to convert your data and add it to the appropriate fields in the most relevant templates.  As you can imagine, we have dozens and dozens of templates pre-loaded and we update them all the time.  Your products could be ready for upload at this point but we strongly recommend you optimize them first.  But, if we’ve already optimized your products for another marketplace we won’t need to optimize them again.  Our tool will convert them and you’ll be good to go!
Optimize
Taking the time to optimize the product data is something most people hate doing.  It can be tedious, but oh my goodness is it necessary!  I’m going to take a giant leap here and assume that you don’t just want to list your products on Amazon, you want to sell your products on Amazon.  Am I right?  There are a boatload of different terms to use to help people both search for and browse for your products.  (Yes, search and browse are different.)  And finding the right term can be very confusing.  For example, if you see a field called battery type and your product uses a AA battery, you’d probably enter AA right?  You’d be wrong.  Your product won’t upload if you use that because the proper terminology is battery_type_aa.  Crazy, right?  That’s why you need us!
Resolve Errors
This one is HUGE.  If there’s an error when uploading your products, the products with errors will not publish.  It can be as little as using a plural where a word should have been singular, but more often than not the errors are more involved.  Is your parent/child relationship configured properly?  Are their 5 potential ASIN matches and you have to find which one is best?  Or even worse yet, is your product failing to go up because the ASIN owner has listed product details wrong?  Sometimes the error code that pops up is so generic you have no idea what’s causing the issue.  We’ll work on these errors and stay on them until they are fixed.  You don’t want some of your best sellers gathering dust simply because of an error that’s difficult to diagnose.

Brand Registry

Brand Registry is a very important part of selling on Amazon.  Developing your own brand is the best way to help insure success.  It distinguishes you from others who sell similar items.  Going through the steps to create a Brand and then trademark it is a lot of work, but it’s only the first step.  Now you’ve got to get recognized.  Amazon has come a long way in helping its sellers market, enhance and protect their brands and it’s very important that you have someone in your corner that will walk you through it and keep it going.

You won’t find any company that will be more diligent in helping you market and protect your brand.  There’s a lot involved so to keep it as simple as possible we’ve put together the process for you:

  • We’ll determine if you’re eligible  for Brand Registry.  But don’t worry if you’re not, we can help you get there.
  • When you’re ready, we’ll walk you through it.
  • Did you know when you’re a member of Brand Registry you get to have your own storefront?  You do!  And we’ll talk with you about how you want it to look and then create it.  We’ll also submit it to Amazon for their approval.
  • Next there’s something called Enhanced Brand Content.  It’s something that will really help your product stand out.  We’ll help you with the creation of Narrative Copy and the insertion of additional images and video, when Amazon makes it available, and get it to Amazon for review.
  • We’ll make certain your product details always remain relevant and showcase your brand.
  • There’s a program called the Brand Registry Early Reviewer Program that we’d like to get you involved with.  Be sure to ask us about it.
  • We have a lot of extra services, as well, that will help maintain your Brand identity (we’ll do this for a pre-defined number of SKUs)
